Barite Mineral Specimen #5

This barite is known as Barite (Two Generations).  As you can see the core of this specimen exhibits a translucent gemmy core that contrasts nicely with the bright white, ivory colored band at the edges.  The barite crystal structure  is so amazing.  The radiating clusters of tabular, spear-like, bi-colored crystals gives this piece an exquisite  3-dimensional appearance. This piece also has a light dusting of pyrite flecks. Perfect to add to a mineral collection and to use for display.
